Liquor Stores N.A. Ltd. Announces Results of Shareholder Meeting, Election of New Board

/EINPresswire.com/ -- EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Jun 20, 2017) - Liquor Stores N.A. Ltd. (the "Company" or "Liquor Stores") (TSX:LIQ), North America's largest publicly traded liquor retailer, announces the election of a new board of directors following its annual and special meeting of shareholders (the "Meeting") held earlier today. The new board of directors of Liquor Stores (the "Board") comprises two incumbent directors, Gary Collins and Peter Lynch, together with Derek H. Burney, John R. Barnett, Karen A. Prentice, Kenneth G. Barbet, James F.C. Burns and Richard D. Perkins, each of whom were nominated by PointNorth Capital Inc. and certain of its affiliates who collectively hold approximately 9.66% of outstanding common shares in the capital of Liquor Stores.

Final voting results on all matters at the Meeting will be included in the Report on Voting Results to be filed on Liquor Stores profile on www.SEDAR.com.

Shortly following the Meeting, the Board held its first meeting of directors, at which Derek H. Burney was appointed Chair of the Board. The committees of the Board will be constituted at a future meeting of the Board.
