Main Activities
Voluntary Repatriation of Ivorian Refugees

  • On 19 April, 25 households of 85 Ivorian refugees were repatriated from Mali with the support of UNHCR and its partners.
  • On 26 April, 02 convoys, from Togo and Ghana, have arrived in Cote d’Ivoire through the CDI-Ghana’s border. 01 Ivorian refugee was repatriated to Cote D’Ivoire the same day from Morocco with UNHCR support.
  • Since 2015, a total of 29,234 Ivorian refugees have been repatriated, 27,588 of whom from Liberia and 1,646 from other countries (As of April 30th, 2018).
  • April 10-12th, in the context of voluntary repatriation, UNHCR in Guiglo received a “Go and See” visit with 12 refugees from Ghana. The mission visited Guiglo and its surroundings areas and had fruitful working sessions with administrative and local authorities as well as community members.
  • Transits Centers maintenance updates:

▪ Touleupleu: The general service room and the dorms have beem renovated with UNHCR support.
▪ Danane: The reception room and the dorms have their walls completed.
The walls on the medical screening room, the registration room and the women’s latrines have been installed.
